Climate Change is reaping devastating effects on our planet.
Climax Community is a start- up which arose from the increasingly pressing need to fight climate change. Our ambition is to use technology to empower individuals and corporations to take action and alter their own behaviour in pursuit of a more sustainable world.
In the UK, individuals produce 40% of carbon emissions. By adjusting behaviour, everyone can make an impact.
Together we can work towards a greener future.
Our Calculations
This version of the app bases it’s calculations on UK statistics, but in the future we aim to expand them to other countries using each country’s official data. Our carbon footprint calculations are based on the official updated carbon factors published by the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, and the UK Department for Environmental Food & Rural Affairs. We understand that the 20 questions are only a broad representation of an individual’s footprint, but it gives a good first estimation to drive action. In future versions of the app, we wish to provide a function whereby this can become more accurate and personalised.
Our Team
We have a dedicated team who are passionate about climate change. From a multitude of backgrounds and countries, we are highly experienced in the Technology, Cybersecurity, Science and Engineering fields. As such, we ensure that we work with integrity and that our information is as accurate and up to date with scientific knowledge as possible.
